CD) "Wer sich noch an unser Labelspecial in der letzten Ausgabe erinnert, dürfte schon wissen, worum es hier geht. Ein Sampler mit elektronischer Musik, vorrangig in eher noisigen Gefilden angesiedelt - wobei "Noise" hier nicht mit "Krach", sondern eher mit "Geräusch" zu übersetzen ist. Laut ist der Großteil des hier Gebotenen nämlich nicht unbedingt, sondern eher am ambientesken Ende des Spektrums angesiedelt, wenn man mal von dem [sehr schön mit "Give us 2 minutes to toast your brain" betitelten] Beitrag von TREMOR absieht, wo es kurz mal in Richtung Breakcore geht [behaupte ich mal, zumindest klingt es in etwa wie das, was ich mir unter Breakcore immer so vorstelle - schlagt mich, wenn ich da falsch liege]. Durchweg gute Musik jedenfalls, und dabei eine gleichermaßen homogene wie abwechslungs- und facettenreiche Zusammenstellung, die man sich von vorne bis hinten problemlos durchhören kann. Interessant auch zu hören, was abseits des Mainstreams elektronischer Musik so alles geht. Und das ist so einiges, egal, ob da bedrohliche Klangschlieren mit Filmsamples [aus "Ronja Räubertochter"] kombiniert werden, wie ORCHHA das tun, oder JAKIN BOAZ einen mit an ältere AUTECHRE-Stücken erinnernden Sounds erfreut. Egal, in dieser Weise könnte ich jetzt alle hier vertretenen Acts aufzählen, aber das würde wohl den Rahmen sprengen. Schon vom ersten Minimalgeplänkel an hing ich mit vollem Einsatz am Kopfhörer. Diese Split LP zweier Projekte auf dem jungen Zeulenrodaer Label Minor (dankenswerterweise kommt also auch noch was anderes aus der Ecke als realsozialistische Schrankwände) ist eine echte Überraschung. Irgendwie sehr lo-fi, aber trotzdem intelligent kommt Ixtab daher. Manchmal hört sich angenehm nach Frühachtziger Computern wie C64 oder Atari an, aber schnell wird man von noisiger Distortion erdrückt und die Beats scheppern von beschwingt bis bollernd dahin. Vor allem "Ein Leben Lang (Extrem Short Version)" ist einer der bassig-funkigsten Sachen die ich seit einer Weile gehört habe. Erinnert mich ein wenig an Muslimgauze oder Electronicat. Während Ixtab also die Rhythmusstreitaxt schwingt, macht Traumschwinge auf sensibel und kreiert sehr fein ziselierte Atmosphären und pulsierenden Rauschambient, bevor auch er es schnell zu treibenden Rhythmuskaskaden kommen lässt. Besonders der Track "It Was Born in 85" hat es mir hier angetan. Könnte wirklich ein Pal Remix eines Imminent Starvation Tracks sein. Ich bin echt hingerissen. Metallisch, tribal, semi-melodiös und ein Haufen Krachgeplockere. Auch "Todesmaschine" zieht schnörkellos seine Beat und Krachloops. Das hört sich bei der auf 200 Stück limitierten Vinylvariante (ich habe hier nur ein CD-R Exemplar) bestimmt noch bassiger und wärmer an. Ich kann das nur überschwenglichst empfehlen. Endlich mal wieder intelligenter Nachwuchs mit Rhythmus- und Soundgefühl." [T_TM] minor001 @ Orkus, Nr. 11 - November 2001 (ixtab/traumschwinge split 12" vinyl) "Die beiden Ein-Mann-Projekte Ixtab und Traumschwinge stammen aus Leipzig und feiern mit diesem Split-Vinyl ihren Tonträgerinstand. Die zwei Projekte haben nicht nur schon auf künstlerischer Ebene zusammengearbeitet, sondern sie haben sich ohrenscheinlich auch einer ähnlich rohen und klassischen Spielart des Industrial Noise verschrieben. Und das "roh" kann man hier wirklich wörtlich nehmen. Die fünf Tracks von Ixtab auf der A-Seite wirken mit ihrem relativ einfachen Aufbau sehr direkt und ungeschliffen und beginnen eigentlich erst bei sehr hohen Lautstärken zu wirken. Nicht selten fühlt man sich in die Achtziger Jahre zu den Anfängen des Genres zurückversetzt, ob man das nun positiv werten möchte oder nicht. Traumschwinge setzt mit seinem spektakulären "Verhängnis des Daseins" eher auf groovigere, tanzbarere Beats und Metallpercussions und ist - ohne bösartig klingen zu wollen - eher im Industrial-Mainstream zwischen P.A.Ls "Gelöbnis" und Sonar anzusiedeln. Trotz guter Ansätze könnte vor allem Traumschwinge durch originellere Sounds und Samples und weniger Klischees noch deutlicher dazugewinnen, aber für einen ersten Schlag ist das dargebotene Material schon recht akzeptabel. Wer auf eher klassischen Industrial steht, kann die LP direkt über das Label beziehen." Imagine this: some Krautrock band bought a computer and found Krautrock was rather boring (their idea, not mine). So they started to experiment in many fields including female ouahing over a six notes guitar tunes + electrosinenoises, vocoderized vocals over slow drum'n'bassing, power-electro type heavy rhythmic noise, more vocal ouhahing, slowed down and not that much slowed down hardtech (last two tracks wouldn't sound misplaced on the next Mechanoise compilation) and even weirdly filtered pop and jungle-with-a-silly-melody. Zwei Stücke sind auf der betreffenden Seite dieser Single, das eine von atmosphärischen Klangflächen und Geräuschen dominiert, beim zweiten kommt dann das rhythmische Element stärker zum Zuge. Ich bin in dieser Drone/Noise-Ecke nicht wirklich bewandert, pan sonic fallen mir hier als Vergleich ein. Gefällt mir jedenfalls. lxxxc klingen dem gegenüber ein wenig synthetischer, am Anfang klingt's, als würde da jemand mit Hilfe von Telefongeräuschen Musik machen, ein Stück weiter werden Oldschool-Computerspiel-Sounds zitiert und zum Ende der Plattenhälfte hin erinnert's mich an Mouse on Mars.
